Here in this post, I will measure lengths of certain US episodes I struggle with. Now do keep in mind just because I matched the length of an episode doesn't mean it's automatically correct, there could be errors I have made when I'm measuring episodes. Do comment below if you think I made some errors measuring some episodes or if you remember what happens in some of these episodes. Another thing I should bring up is that there have been users who have been measuring US episodes they have not seen making it too confusing for other users, I would suggest to only measure episodes if you think you remember seeing them. I will also put a section below where I talk about what I'm struggling with when it comes to measuring Teletubbies episodes, because some episodes like the home video TV airings and Teletubbies Everywhere episodes are giving me a hard time. While I'm working on my Teletubbies recap blog posts, I probably won't measure every single episode because some of them are going to give me a hard time, so I'll talk about how I mainly remember them.

For starters, here is some lengths of segments in Teletubbies to know about when it comes to measuring episodes.

  • Theme Song (Intro to the sun baby smiling) - 2:31
  • Theme Song (Intro to Sun Baby Giggling for Teletubby Everywhere) - 2:27
  • Teletubbies Saying 'Eh-Oh' During Teletubbies Everywhere - 0:08?
  • Teletubbies Everywhere Episodes (From the Teletubbies appearing one by one to the Teletubbies giving each other a big hug) - 11:12 to 11:15
  • Teletubbies Everywhere Ending (US) - 0:31
  • Tubby Bye Bye (Voice Trumpet Delayed to Ragdoll Logo) (US Ending) - 2:32

Here is a link to a calculator that can add and subtract times if you don't want to calculate episodes in your head.

There are also some things to know about when it comes to measuring episodes. Sometimes segments might have different opening shots or a rabbits song, some TV events might be shortened, and sometimes in other versions of episodes Teletubbies Everywhere segments might be shortened, though I wonder if that does happen. I say that because some people might measure some episodes incorrectly and those two reasons could be the reason why. So if you are measuring an episode you remember from your childhood, try to accurately remember how the episode went before you go measuring it.

There are some questions to ask yourself when it comes to measuring US episodes from your childhood, here some questions listed below you can ask yourself to figure out what segments an episode had.

  • Was the segment an indoor segment or an outdoor segment? Though sometimes there are segments where it takes outdoors but the ending takes place in the house, take the main segment from "Giraffes" as an example, the segment mainly takes place outdoors, but the ending of the episode happens in the house.
  • What Teletubbies were featured in the segment? Was the Noo Noo in the segment too?
  • Did the Teletubbies say 'uh-oh' at the end of the segment? If so, where were they when they did?
  • Did the segment have narration?
  • Did the segment have voice trumpets?
  • Was the segment about something appearing from far away?
  • Was one of the Teletubbies favorite things in the segment?
